Overview of AviPocket, The Pocket Size Aviation Computer
(... en espaņol)
AviPocket-software is designed for use in calculations for making
operational flight plans and for use during the flight.
The program is very easy to use; just answer the questions and read
the results in plain language, without any misunderstandings! The
system speaks your language. No previous knowledge of computers
necessary.
Data values can be entered in units available and also mixed. The
computer recognizes units and makes conversions automatically.
A special feature is the Avipocket's ability to determine course and distance
via coordinates (longitude and latitude);
Courses and distances are determined via coordinates when the way point is given as:
- Way point via ICAO code of airport or code of radio navigation
aid (built-in database)
- Manually entered co-ordinates
- Great Circle intersection (e.g. two VOR radials)
- DME/Radial
- Time/speed or distance from previous or given FIX.
- Built-in database of positions of airports and Radio Navigation aids.
Data of aerodromes and radio navigation aids can be stored into the
pocket computer's memory.
When calculating several (sub)routes, it is not necessary to re-enter
common data for different functions.
The program supports a optional printing device to put results direct
into hard copy.
AviPocket is designed to operate in the Sharp series of pocket computers:
e.g. Shrap Pocket Manager IQ-7000/8000/9000M series.
(program version 6.16S , all VOR and NDB coordinates covering western Europe are stored
into the computer's memory)
