Overview of Avicom system

The AVICOM system is designed for Computerized Flight Planning and to keep pilot/acft/device logbook. The system is suitable for small and medium size aviation companies as well as for private pilots.

The program itself is menu driven and easily mastered; the context oriented on-screen-HELP messages are instantly available at the touch of a key, so prior experience with computer applications is unnecessary. Just start the program and answer the questions!

Avicom is available in English, Swedish and Finnish, and other languages are available to order.

You may also access part of the database and store it in the AviPocket for in-flight use
(refer to the chapter, "Overview of AviPocket").

Features of Avicom-software

• Avicom makes a complete OFP-sheet (Operational Flight Plan) including fuel and weight calculations. You'll get also a complete list of airports with all necessary information.
  Just tell the computer:
  
  • which aircraft you are going to use (speed,fuel, weight, etc. information are pre-saved in the aircraft register)
    
  • give the codes or names of airports, Radio Navigation Aids and enroute waypoints on route (the program searches all needed data from its database by given code or name).
  • You can also use Lat/Long as well Radial/Distance.
  • enter current winds
• different routes may be saved into computer's memory for later use.
• Quick OFP - just give code of pre-saved route (or OFP) and current winds - you'll get a complete OFP-sheet.
• Graphic route display to image the flight route.
• Self updatable database for aerodromes and radio navigation aids or any specific place. The information included are e.g. code, name, coordinates, radio frequencies, runways, hours of service, etc. The size of the database is not limited and fast accessing method lets you to use code or name when searching data.
• Avicom can access Jeppesens "NavData" worldwide data base of radio navigation aids, enroute waypoints, and airports. Avicom can read and convert NavData diskettes and store data into Avicom data base. (See more details of NavData in enclosed brochures.)
• Avicom gives you estimated cost of flight based on costs per hour and/or costs per nautical mile
• Aircraft register includes basic information for fuel calculations, weight calculations, costing etc.
• Equipment/device register for to control running time.
• By entering logbook the into the system you have automatic control of aircraft inspections, equipment/device inspections etc. The System also gives statistics of the flight time of flying personel.
• Data values can be entered in units available and also mixed. The computer recognizes the units and makes conversions automatically.
